STUDIO II
SEMESTER II | 2017
The key to developing concepts and forms is -
Abstraction
Abstraction of words helps in understand, analyzing and recreating a substantial component as an insubstantial figment of our imagination.
Abstraction of concepts is core to the design development and artistry of space making. Space that were inspired through strong emotions inspire others who experience it.

Transformation

noun: a marked change in form, nature, or appearance

interpretation: Change is a never ending process. We change throughout our life, our ideas change as we mature, our work changes as we become realists. But within that constant flux of the ever present change, there are paths to choose, barriers to overcome and dead ends to break through.

Zebra

noun: an African wild horse with black-and-white stripes

interpretation: Trends, styles and statements, there are those who start them and there are those who follow. Sometimes, more often than not, in this age of social media we forget who we are and loose our originality amongst the race to stay relevant.

Conflict

noun: a serious disagreement or argument, typically a protracted one

interpretation: Bonds between people can form in the most unlikeliest situations. But what turns those bonds into lasting relationships are the conflicts and difference that arise and how we tackle through them, together.
This exercise opened up the numerous possibilities in design. The next was hence a product of experimenting with interpretation of 3-Dimensional spaces.
WHISPER
A Museum of Words | 2017
Originally hand drafted.
Reworked with Sketchup.
Rendered with Enscape.
Form follows function.

But iconic designs often generate out of forms first.

In this studio we learnt to create abstraction interpretations of words and emotions. One of the model was to be chosen and developed into a space and be given a function. The objective of this exercise was to understand concepts as abstractions and to then learn how to turn those abstractions into sensible designs.

Representation of Abstract concepts

Rationalising

Selecting one of the models to develop in a functioning space.

For this exercise is Selected the abstract representation of Path.

' Two roads diverged ina a wood, and I -
I took the one less travelled by ... '

The poetic nature of the space created inspired me to develop it into a literary museum.
